BUZZ LOL.com

Published by under blogging,Website

Sometimes you just need a good laugh, right? I don’t come across these sites often, but when I do, they really have me laughing! BuzzLOL.com has is a fun site that has lots of different, very funny videos, photos, cute animals and more! Like these photos of a Photoshop Fail. Now some of those don’t even look right, haha….but they are pretty funny!

Oh, don’t forget about the funny autocorrect pics! [OOPS!]

The pics that really had me laughing were the “duckface” pics. So THAT’S what you call it when girls pose for pictures with that face. I’ve always wondered…..I am definitely going to have to share this site with my friends. It’s something you should check out when you just need a laugh.

Healthy Eating with Uncle Ben’s

Published by under blogging,Website

Are you looking for ways to incorporate healthy, (or healthier) foods in your kids diet? Are you having trouble getting your kids to sit down to a healthy meal? I sometimes have this problem as well. Kids can be so picky at times. My girls are ages 3.5 and 6, and they both like different things. One likes vegetables, while the other doesn’t so much. One thing they both enjoy (which makes me happy) is rice! Rice is one of those foods that you can do SO much with. Uncle Ben’s makes nutritious and delicious rice. It’s really a high quality brand of rice, and is so easy to work with. From stir-fry to casseroles, I can count on it to come out just right!

My girls love to help in the kitchen. Their favorite thing to do is help mommy cook! They also like to help in other ways, for example:

-They like to go around the kitchen and get all the pots, pans, and utensils.
-They also like to open up the fridge or freezer and take out everything we need.
-The are great stirrers! To kids sometimes, stirring=cooking! Ha! :)

My girls pull up a chair (if needed) to stand on, and help combine ingredients for a meal. If they help make it, then they are more likely to try new things-even with vegetables! I have found that this is a great way to get your kids involved at meal-time. They love to be included and love “making” recipes.

Right now Uncle Ben’s has this fun contest going on called “The Ben’s Beginners contest.” If you have a child, (or children) between the ages of 5-12, and love to cook with them, this could be the contest for you! Submit a 2-3 minute video of you cooking a rice based dish with your child. You could possibly win $20,000, along with a $50,000 grant towards a cafeteria makeover for your child’s school. You will also have a chance to appear on The Rachael Ray show! That sounds exciting, right? Why not?

So if you like to cook with your kids, then this is a great opportunity. How do your kids like to help in the kitchen? Show everyone at the Ben’s Beginners Cooking contest. Be sure to like Uncle Ben’s on Facebook, and have fun!

I wrote this blog post while participating in the SocialMoms and Uncle Ben’s blogging program, for 6,000 My SocialMoms Rewards Points. For more information on how you can participate, click here.

Keepsakes [Artwork] -updated

Published by under Family

I just updated my page “Keepsakes” with a recent painting by Jacey. I’ve been meaning to add this for awhile now. (She did this a few months ago). I LOVE it! It is hanging on the wall in the playroom. Isn’t this gorgeous?!

Jacey's Art [sunflowers]

You may not be able to tell, but there are actual sunflower seeds (in shell) in the middle of the flower. The actual painting looks way better than it comes off here.

I have more updating to do, but be sure to check out the page. I’m thinking of making a collage of their art as well. :)
